Why I Love Ezekiel Bread

How many of you have heard about Ezekiel Bread? If you haven’t given it a try, you should consider checking it out on your next trip to the grocery store. It has recently become my newest obsession. I’ve been working hard to shed the post-baby weight while trying to maintain a healthy milk supply AND eat wholesome foods. Sounds exhausting, doesn’t it? It definitely hasn’t been easy for me, but I’m making progress every day.

When I was doing research about the best foods for Ellianna, I came across Ezekiel Bread and the amazing benefits it offers. Not only is it made with sprouted whole-grains, but it doesn’t have any added sugars, is full of good-for-you fiber and protein, and doesn’t contain any nasty additives. Sounds like heaven in a bag, doesn’t it?

My go-to option is the Genesis 1:29 Sprouted Whole Grain English Muffins. One of my favorite ways to use this is to turn it into a mini pizza for lunch! I LOVE pizza and I’m often craving a good ole’ slice of greasy pepperoni by the middle of the week. Not only does this curb my craving for the “bad” stuff, it’s also quick to whip up and doesn’t require a lot of labor in the kitchen. Eat this with a small side salad or piece of fruit and you have a quick lunch option that everyone will love.

Directions: Ezekiel Bread Pizza

Gather all of your ingredients together. Put one Genesis 1:29 Sprouted Whole Grain English Muffin in the microwave (or toaster oven) for approximately 35-40 seconds to defrost.

Slice open the english muffin and top it with 2 tbs of Pizza Sauce (1 tbs on each half). Spread the sauce evenly.

Next, top with 1-2 tbs of cheese on each half (depending on how cheesy you like yours to be).

Add 3-4 jalopeños per slice. If you don’t like spice, you can add any pizza topping of your choice. Pepperoni, sweet peppers, and mushrooms are all great options.

Pop this bad boy into the microwave for about 1 minute and 15 seconds and you’re ready to go! If you don’t have a microwave (or choose not to use one) you can also pop this in the oven set at 350º for about 4-5 minutes. Enjoy!
