When I first started blogging, I had no idea how rewarding it would be. Not only do I have a creative outlet, but I have been able to meet so many wonderful bloggers along the way! It is unbelievable how many things I have learned from them in my short time in the online world. My most recent success, the Liebster Award, is a direct result of the support of fellow bloggers and I’m so humbled and appreciative to be recognized!

What is the Liebster Award?

If you have been a member of the blogging community for a while, you have most certainly heard of the Liebster Award. It is an online award that is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The idea is to bring growth and recognition to new blogs and to connect bloggers with one another. What an awesome concept, right?!

When a blog is nominated for the Liebster Award, they are asked to answer a series of questions posed by the blogger that nominated them. Then the nominee nominates several other new bloggers and the cycle continues.

I’m so grateful for Katelyn Baker at Takes the {Kate} for her nomination!

A Little Bit about Takes the {Kate}:

Katelyn Baker is a college student from Mobile, Alabama who recently created a blog as an alternative to her part-time job. She blogs about money management, and college life! Her bright, cheerful personality makes her posts enjoyable and easy to read. She has a lot of great tips and tricks for money management, especially for those just starting out. As a saver myself, I really enjoyed this post about how she accumulated over $500 without even noticing!

My Questions:

As I mentioned above, when you are nominated for the Liebster Award you are asked to answer a series of questions posed by the individual that nominated you. This is a great way to get to know more about each blogger and what makes them unique!

Question #1: Where is your favorite place you’ve ever visited?

My favorite place in the whole entire world is, by far, Hawaii. I absolutely love both Maui and Kauai. Not only am I a fan of the weather and the gorgeous beaches, but also the people that live there! It’s amazing to me that a place so beautiful even exists!

Question #2: What made you begin blogging?

On August 7, 2016 I became a mama to the sweetest little baby girl. My husband blessed me with the most beautiful gift, and I have been able to stay home with her from day one! Several months into being a SAHM, I decided that I still wanted to be able to contribute to the family financially, but I didn’t want to have to leave my daughter to do so. I did a lot of research and discovered the amazing opportunities that come along with blogging! Not only do I have the opportunity to bring a little extra money to my family each month, but also have a creative outlet where I can share the things that matter most to me. To top it all, I get to build a community in the process!

Question #3: What’s one thing you’ve never done?

I’ve never scuba dived and I never plan too! I am actually really scared of the ocean. I have attempted snorkeling on several occasions, simply because I have a fear of missing out. However, the idea of being deep in the ocean with creatures I know nothing about does not appeal to me. I’ll keep that on my list of “thing’s I’ve never done” for now.

Question #4: What’s your number one blog goal for 2017?

My hope is to be able to grow my traffic and form a community of mama’s that feel comfortable sharing their story with me. Sometimes being a SAHM can be lonely, and there is nothing better than sharing your trails and triumphs with people who are going through the same things! I look forward to building that community over the course of the year!
